Faster than
a speeding bullet (would you believe a spitball?), more powerful
than a locomotive (how about they won’t fall down in a stiff
breeze?), able to leap tall buildings in a single bound (they only
trip on curbs once a day). Look, out in the field, IT’S THE
COMPETITORS OF THE 1999 CHOEY MEMORIAL PENTATHLON!!!!! There are
only 7 weeks left before the 1999 Choey!!!! Sign-ups are from 11:30
to 12:00 on Saturday, July 17, with events starting at 12:15.
We would
like to thank everyone that travels near and far to be at the Choey
Memorial Pentathlon. Bloom and Matt - I, uh would uh, like to thank
you fwom the bottom of my heawt fow beiwing thewe last yeaw and hope
to see you bowth next yeaw (trust me, they think it’s funny).
The entry
fee is $75/team if you pre-register, $80.00/team if you register
after July 1. Pre-Registration works this way: 1- Fill out the entry
from enclosed, 2- Place entry form in the enclosed, stamped, return
envelope, 3- Write a check for $75.00, 4-put the check in the same
stamped envelope, 5 - drop the envelope in the mail. IT’S THAT
EASY!!!!!! Not only will you save $5.00, but ALL entry forms
received on or before JULY 1, 1999 will be given PRIORITY PLACEMENT
into the events requested. As always, we cannot guarantee your
events, but if you pre-register, your chance of getting the events
you want will increase significantly. We will only have room for 8
Wiffleball teams this year. If this is an event you want,
Pre-Registration is a must. Special thanks goes out to the team last
year that 1) bounced their check, 2) didn’t send back the refund
check I sent them BEFORE I knew their check bounced, and 3) then
proceeded to cash MY check and never paid me for the original
bounced check. THEREFORE, NO REFUNDS!!!!!
For
$37.50/person you each get a Kuch original T-shirt, all you can eat
and drink for 2 1/2 days, a pig roast, door prizes, trophies, and
lots of laughs. Of course all are welcome even if they don’t want
to compete, a donation of $25.00/person is required for eats, grog,
door prizes and T-shirt.
The float on
Sunday continues to keep people talking all year. Since the trip is
so big, we are going to have to charge $20 for rafts on Sunday. The
trip will be slightly different this year. We will be using a local
rafting company to supply the rafts. This should allow less problems
logistically. We will again be serving sandwiches and beverages
(adult and otherwise) on the river.
We will have
3 Divisions this year, Men’s, Mixed, and Women’s. Each division
will have separate rankings and separate trophies. However, all
teams will still compete against each other throughout the day. We
still keep hope out that there will be a Seniors Division. We are
ready, are you???
BeerPong is
best played at night. The tables don’t melt.
Well, here
is what we are going to do. This year, the Early Session will have 6
"Skill" events. These events start at 12:15 PM on
Saturday. The Early events are: Horseshoes, Badminton, Wiffleball,
Foosball, Darts, and GOLF. This is a change from last year. We feel
that this will allow the afternoon events to move more quickly.
Also, it forces everyone to participate in "fun" events.
The Late Session will have 3 "Fun" events. These events
start at 3:45 PM on Saturday. The Late events are: Egg Throw, Keg
Throw, and Relay Race. For those of you who missed last years Relay
Race, cameras are a must!!!
The raffle
will start at 5:30. The auction will start at 6:30. BeerPong starts
at 7:15.
The raffle
will be run the same as last year. Raffle Tickets will still be
priced as follows: 1 Ticket-$5.00, 3 Tickets-$10.00, 7
Tickets-$20.00, or 10 Tickets-$25.00. Each prize will have a bag
next to it. Place as many tickets in the bag next to the prizes you
want. There is no limit on the amount of prizes you win. As always,
if anyone has anything to raffle off- PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let us
know. Any and all gifts would be greatly appreciated.
We will have
an auction again this year!! Last year’s was a HUGE success. If
anyone can help out and donate auction items, PLEASE CALL US!!! We
should have sports memorabilia, golf clubs, etc. so….. BRING
MONEY!!!
Everyone
that enters of course gets an original KUCH designed T-Shirt.
However, due to popular demand, you may purchase additional shirts
for $5.00 (while supplies last). Hurry because supplies don’t last
long!! (yeah right, we still have 2 dozen shirts from last year!!)
REMEMBER -
Everyone that works this weekend is a volunteer, they deserve
respect and gratitude for all they do.
Bring your
friends and we’ll see you July 16,17, and 18!!!!!!!!!!
