We’re
BAACCCKKKK!!!!!! It’s looming over the horizon like Godzilla
descending on Tokyo (or Helmut eyeing a Big Mac). There are about 7
weeks left before the 1998 Choey!!!! Sign-ups are from 11:30 to
12:00 on Saturday, July 18, with events starting at 12:15. This is
the same as last year, so no whining please.
The entry
fee is $75/team if you pre-register, $80.00/team if you register
after July 1. Pre-Registration works this way: 1- Fill out the entry
from enclosed, 2- Place entry form in the enclosed, stamped, return
envelope, 3- Write a check for $75.00, 4-put the check in the same
stamped envelope, 5- LICK the envelope (heh, heh, he said lick!!),
6- drop the envelope in the mail. IT’S THAT EASY!!!!!! Not only
will you save $5.00, but ALL entry forms received on or before JULY
1, 1998 will be given PRIORITY PLACEMENT into the events requested.
As always, we cannot guarantee your events, but if you pre-register,
your chance of getting the events you want will increase
significantly. We will only have room for 8 Wiffleball teams this
year. If this is an event you want, Pre-Registration is a must.
For
$37.50/person you get a Kuch original T-shirt, all you can eat and
drink for 2 1/2 days, a guided raft trip down the Delaware, a pig
roast, door prizes, and lots of laughs. Of course all are welcome
even if they don’t want to compete, a donation of $25.00/person is
required for eats, grog, and T-shirt.
The float on
Sunday has become as big as the Choey itself. Since the trip is so
big, we are going to have to charge $15 for rafts on Sunday. The
trip will be slightly different this year. We will serve lunch
BEFORE we launch on Sunday. The committee feels this would keep
things moving a little better. We probably will stop at the beach
again to pick-up adult beverages if necessary.
Another
change, we will have 3 Divisions this year, Men’s, Mixed, and
Women’s. Each division will have separate rankings and separate
trophies. However, all teams will still compete against each other
throughout the day.
Change is
good. The BeerPong tournament has changed!! The BeerPong Tournament
starts at 12:01 P.M. on Saturday. That’s right, 12:01 P.M. on
Saturday. We must complete the first four rounds of play for the
BeerPong tournament before 7:00 P.M. The top 8 teams from last year
will get a bye into the round of 32. All other teams will be placed
into the BeerPong bracket when they sign-up. ONLY WINNERS BRACKET
GAMES will be played during the day. Loser’s Bracket games will
start immediately following the Auction in the evening. Games will
be played throughout the day. It is very important that when teams
are not playing in there assigned event, that they check-in and play
their required BeerPong games. For the first 4 rounds of play, it
will be 5 points or a sink for win. After the first four rounds we
will go to 7 points or sink for the win. Throughout the entire
tournament, there will be a 7 minute time limit on all games. If
time runs out before a winner is declared, the team with the most
points will be declared the winner. If the teams are tied with 4 or
more points, a 3 point, 3 minute overtime will be played. If teams
are tied with less than 4 points, a sudden death overtime will be
played.
The raffle
will be run pretty much the same as last year. Raffle Tickets will
still be priced as follows: 1 Ticket-$5.00, 3 Tickets-$10.00, 7
Tickets-$20.00, or 10 Tickets-$25.00. Also, when we raffle off the
prizes, a single person will only be able to win four prizes. This
is known as the "Carolyn Varca" rule since one year she
won everything in sight. So, if a person has already won 4 prizes
and their name is called again, they must give up one of their
prizes if they want to claim the one they just won. That prize is
then the next prize to be raffled off. As always, if anyone has
anything to raffle off- PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let us know. Any and
all gifts would be greatly appreciated.
We will have
an auction again this year!! Last year’s was a HUGE success. If
anyone can help out and donate auction items, PLEASE CALL US!!! We
should have sports memorabilia, golf clubs, etc. so….. BRING
MONEY!!!
Everyone
that enters of course gets an original KUCH designed T-Shirt.
However, due to popular demand, you may purchase additional shirts
for $5.00 (while supplies last). Hurry because supplies don’t last
long!!
Bring your
friends and we’ll see you July 17,18, and 19!!!!!!!!!!
